A Hashbrown Sandwich?

Feeling pretty hungry and craving a sandwich, as opposed to another meal of rice and vegetables, I took a look at the menu at the cafe and spotted the club sandwich. Knowing that it was 1) an all-veg restaurant and 2) India, I was sure it would not be what I was hoping for, but I ordered it anyway, figuring I would take a chance that at least the most expensive sandwich on the menu would at least be filling and good. What I got was not bad, but certainly one of the more unique sandwiches I've ever eaten.

It was not one, not two, but four pieces of white bread, lightly toasted. The bottom layer was (warm) cucumber and tomato with a chili sauce. The middle layer was a slice of cheese that was somewhere between Indian paneer and typical American sliced cheese. The top layer was the coup d'etat: a spicy potato latke of sorts. In all, it tasted like eating a hashbrown sandwich with spicy cucumbers.

It really wasn't bad -- though not especially filling -- but it certainly makes me excited to return to the land of delicious, normal sandwiches: America.
