Jaswant Thanda (Jodhpur)

Though Jodhpur is known for the impressive Meherangarh Fort, I found the nearby Jaswant Thanda equally impressive. It was built as a memorial to the popular ruler Jaswant Singh II, who has an impressive Jodhpurian resume: he purged the city of bandits, improved the economy, and began irrigation systems.
